Intelligent technologies and services for efficient and profitable production that complies with guidelines and conserves resources.
Sesotec GmbH is a leading innovator in the field of devices and systems for foreign object detection in food industry applications. With these intelligent technologies and services, Sesotec customers are able to optimize both products and processes to increase profitability. In order to create even more value for customers, Sesotec has reinvented the concepts underpinning their RAYCON x-ray inspection systems: the 6-Priority Framework (6P Framework).
In developing the new RAYCON generation, Sesotec posed the question: what requirements must x-ray systems fulfill in order to provide maximum value to food processors and manufacturers? After a series of in-depth analyses and discussions, six overarching priorities were identified: compliance, safety, hygiene, efficiency, operation, and service.
Compliance & accuracy
The first priority encompasses all aspects that contribute to the fulfillment of all parameters prescribed by common food safety standards regarding detection accuracy and documentation. To this end, RAYCON x-ray devices reliably detect metallic and non-metallic foreign bodies within the entire inspection area. Compliance with food safety standards is guaranteed.
Safety for people & products
The second priority centers on ensuring that RAYCON x-ray systems provide maximum safety for products, personnel, and data, while simultaneously helping to protect the brand from recalls. The highly effective radiation protection and precision dosing enable all-around safe operation.
Simple user operation
The third priority concerns ensuring that the interface is easy to operate, thereby reducing the risk of errors. With a large touchscreen, easy-to-understand user instructions, and features such as Auto-Learn, RAYCON systems offer intuitive operation for everyday use.
Comprehensive hygiene concept
The fourth priority is based on the extensive hygiene regulations to which x-ray systems used in the food industry are subject. The open, modular design and toolless access to the conveyor area enable simplified cleaning and maintenance on all RAYCON devices.
Efficiency in every category
The fifth priority addresses the need to increase production efficiency through measures that increase throughput, reduce false rejects, reduce planned downtime, and eliminate or minimize unplanned downtime. High speeds and multi-lane capabilities make it possible for RAYCON x-ray systems to perform real-time inspection for as many as 300 products per minute on up to four parallel lines.
Quick, reliable service
The sixth and final priority concerns services offered by the x-ray device manufacturer, who has the responsibility of ensuring performance, preventing issues, and quickly addressing problems should they arise. Between warranty services, a combination of onsite and remote servicing, and targeted trainings, RAYCON devices come with the optimal support to keep your operation running smoothly.
Sesotec Product Manager Thomas Hellgermann summarizes the benefits of the this approach: “With the 6P Framework, we are able to comprehensively address each of the central priorities of food manufacturers and processors. Safety is assured all along the line: Food products remain free of foreign bodies, processes run smoothly, product losses are minimized, profitability increases, and the brand image remains untarnished.”
