Panduit has announced the ES2P Power Distribution Unit, a managed rack PDU designed to deliver essential power intelligence for today’s compute environments. Built for data centres, edge deployments, enterprise closets and technology refresh projects, ES2P helps organisations modernise rack power distribution without adding unnecessary complexity, cost or operational overhead.

As AI, cloud services, digital transformation and distributed IT continue to increase demand on compute infrastructure, organisations need rack power solutions that are reliable, manageable and ready to scale. ES2P is engineered to meet that requirement by combining resilient power delivery, modern network connectivity, straightforward management and practical deployment features in a compact platform that fits the way infrastructure teams work.

The ES2P PDU gives IT, facilities and data centre teams the power visibility and control they need to support critical systems, improve energy utilisation and maintain uptime. With managed and monitored configurations, ES2P enables teams to understand what is happening at the rack, make informed power decisions and support expanding infrastructure.

ES2P is designed around the essentials in real-world compute environments. Gigabit Ethernet connectivity supports fast communication with modern data centre and other networks, while daisy chaining for up to 16 units helps simplify IP address management and reduce networking costs as rack deployments expand. This capability is especially valuable in edge and distributed environments, where teams often need to deploy and manage multiple racks across sites with limited local resources.

Operational reliability is central to the ES2P design. The unit is rated for performance in ambient temperatures up to 55°C, facilitating operation in dense, warm racks where compute load and airflow constraints can increase thermal pressure. ES2P also delivers ±2% metering accuracy, giving infrastructure teams dependable power data at the rack level. A hot-swappable controller and display allow maintenance or replacement without powering down the rack, helping reduce downtime risk during service events.

Security is built into ES2P to help protect critical power infrastructure. The PDU supports secure protocols including SNMPv3, TLS, HTTPS and SSH, and includes role-based access controls and encrypted firmware updates. The platform also aligns with industry security scans, supporting organisations that need to deploy intelligent power infrastructure within controlled, security conscious environments.

ES2P also supports practical installation and lifecycle management. Tool-less mounting hardware and 18.4 mm mounting buttons simplify installation in Panduit and third-party cabinets, while 0U and 1U form factors provide flexibility for different rack layouts. The manually rotatable LCD display improves readability in tight rack spaces, helping technicians view power information regardless of mounting orientation or equipment placement.

The PDU is also designed to integrate into the broader infrastructure management ecosystem. ES2P can be managed remotely through Panduit tools and third-party DCIM platforms via SNMP, with compatibility for SiteCommand and Cisco Nexus Dashboard environments. This enables infrastructure teams to incorporate rack power data into existing monitoring workflows rather than creating separate management actions.

ES2P is well suited for a broad set of industries and applications. In healthcare, it supports reliable power distribution for hospitals, clinics, medical networks and digital records systems. In education, it helps campuses deploy manageable power across classrooms, labs and online learning infrastructure. In financial environments, it supports secure monitoring for critical network infrastructure powering ATMs, branches and trading systems. It is ideal for industrial IT environments, branch IT closets, small and mid-sized enterprise data centres, rack refresh projects and budget conscious expansion phases.

ES2P is backed by Panduit’s quality and includes a three-year standard warranty, with two additional years available through product registration for a total registered warranty of five years. For organisations looking to modernise rack infrastructure, improve visibility and scale compute environments efficiently, ES2P provides intelligent power without the extras.
