Eagle Eye and innovative Fresh Pack: ALPMA at Anuga FoodTec 2022
Cologne, April 26-29, 2022, Hall 4.1, Booth: A028 A010
Hygiene and high enjoyment thanks to state-of-the-art production lines: At this year’s Anuga FoodTec, ALPMA Alpenland Maschinenbau GmbH will show how it has used the two years of involuntary break from the trade fair to further advance its vision of automated production of dairy products. Two innovations from the world market leader in process, cheese-making, cutting and packaging technology are celebrating their trade show premiere at the leading trade show in Cologne: The Eagle Eye electronic inspection system drastically increases product safety in fully automated cheese processing lines. The innovative FreshPack film packaging, on the other hand, perfectly protects butter from contamination and loss of flavor. In Hall 4.1 at Stand A028 – A010, ALPMA will also be presenting numerous other automation solutions along the entire process chain for dairy products.
This is ALPMA’s first appearance at the trade show after an absence of more than two years due to the pandemic. Although the automation experts from Rott am Inn have maintained their close exchange with customers and business partners even during the pandemic, virtual meetings cannot really replace direct face-to-face encounters with them, as ALPMA Managing Director Gisbert Strohn emphasizes: “We are very happy to be able to go to a real trade fair again – and we are very much looking forward to being able to present our new developments live to the trade audience! Face-to-face discussions with customers and other experts on site remain an irreplaceable source of inspiration and new ideas for us.”
ALPMA has used the “Corona time” so far to further advance numerous improvements and product developments: “The pandemic was also an accelerator of digitalization and the consistent connection of our globally installed plants to our service portals,” says Frank Eberle, also Managing Director at ALPMA. “In addition, there are important innovations in the further development of our production lines – especially with regard to the increased hygiene requirements worldwide.” ALPMA is now presenting two of these innovations, the Eagle Eye inspection system and the innovative FreshPack butter packaging, for the first time at Anuga FoodTec.
Eagle Eye reliably detects film residue and mold growth
In the future, the innovative Eagle Eye inspection system will be used primarily in fully automated cheese production lines. The electronic “eagle eye” will immediately detect defects such as foil shavings or unwanted mold on purely mechanically unpacked cheese blocks with a level of certainty that is even superior to that of the human eye. Thanks to state-of-the-art camera technology and an illumination system specially developed by ALPMA, the Eagle Eye achieves an accuracy of almost 100 percent. Defective goods can thus be sorted out directly and the highest hygiene standards can be maintained along the production line.
FreshPack for butter: innovative and award-winning
Maximum food safety on the one hand, high convenience for the consumer on the other: with the innovative FreshPack solution, ALPMA is turning the previous concept of butter packaging on its head. While the standard wrapping currently used does not adequately protect butter from contact with oxygen, bacteria and other contaminants, FreshPack offers several advantages: The precisely cut and double-sealed film packaging not only comprehensively protects the butter from tampering and contamination, but also better preserves the aroma of the sensitive product. The innovative concept is celebrating its trade show premiere at Anuga FoodTec, but has already been honored with the golden FoodTec Award by the German Food Society (DLG) in 2021.
Fully automated solutions for the entire production chain
From milk preparation to the cut and packaged product: in recent years, ALPMA has become the technology and world market leader for process, cheese-making, cutting and packaging technology. The integration of solutions from plant manufacturer SULBANA and French cheese mold producer Servi Doryl into the ALPMA portfolio, which will also be represented at the booth at Anuga FoodTec, also plays an important role. The spectrum of solutions on display thus ranges from coagulator cells for the continuous production of cheese curds to bassines, cheese presses, a filleting machine, and a microfiltration system for the sterilization of brine.
