ErgoMove from Blickle performs precision work on a special transport system

It was a challenging task: WDW Waagen- und Dosiertechnik GmbH developed a special transport solution for a customer in the nutrition industry. The company received support from Rosenfeld: The wheel and castor specialist Blickle supplied its ErgoMove 1000 Electric Drive System. The castors attached to the base frame of the WDW Dosing Jet vitamin trolley enable precise movement of the load and convenient operation.

Based in Vechta WDW has been developing customised solutions for weighing and dosing technology, sampling and special machine construction since 1995. The components, machines and systems are primarily used in the bulk materials industry. Customers come from the feed, food, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors. WDW generates sales in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and Sweden.

The latest development was intended for a company in the premix and nutrition industry. An expert in the processing of highly concentrated additives and vitamins, they ordered a transport solution for the safe and fast weighing of ingredients. The WDW engineers finally designed the WDW Dosing Jet vitamin trolley. This consists of an aspiration bonnet, operating joystick, screen, base frame, hydraulics, control technology and two scales.

Weights of more than 500 kilograms have to be moved precisely on a rail system with this structure. The vitamin trolley is used in combination with a Pater Noster system. To enable ergonomic transport, those responsible at WDW opted for Blickle’s ErgoMove 1000 Electric Drive System for loads of up to 1,000 kilograms. “The castors that Blickle presented to us three years ago quickly came into play. Their ability to carry a high payload made them the ideal choice for this project,” explains Hendrik Wolking, Managing Director of WDW Waagen- und Dosiertechnik GmbH. But it wasn’t just the robustness that impressed. “The castors with an integrated motor and electromechanical parking brake can be controlled very precisely, which enables extremely precise travel paths and offers the customer unparalleled control through the WDW Dosing Jet,” adds Hendrik Wolking.

WDW sees another advantage of the ErgoMove castors in their seamless integration into the overall system control. “Our control engineers praised the smooth process in which the castors could be easily and efficiently integrated into the existing control concept using the CANopen bus system,” says Hendrik Wolking. ErgoMove has completely convinced WDW. “The decision in favour of Blickle’s castors has paid off for us in many respects and has set the standard for future projects. Their combination of power, precision and integration capability sets them apart from other castor technologies and makes this a real game changer for us as a machine manufacturer,” summarises the Managing Director.
