Designed for simplicity and efficiency, it integrates inspection and weighing within a single IP65-rated stainless steel frame. Consolidating safety features and reducing floor contact points improves hygiene and supports production efficiency. It also significantly reduces the machine footprint compared to modular inspection systems connected by individual conveyors, support frames and safety controls.
The Icon X-ray and Checkweigher Combination System uses advanced algorithms to detect metal, glass, plastics and bone, while simultaneously verifying package weight, fill levels and missing components. Four belt widths support varied applications, from dairy and meats to baked goods and non-food items.
Radiation is fully contained, negating the need for external lead shielding. A unified HMI manages all functions, while an optional camera system offers real-time product flow monitoring. Separate reject bins minimize waste and maintain accurate quality control data.
Key detection capabilities include IA+ filtering to isolate contaminants in complex products. This allows the system to ignore product edges, air pockets and overlapping components to focus exclusively on contaminant signatures.
Flexible reject systems can be customized to product formats and include air blast for light items or drop-nose and retractable conveyors for larger or delicate goods. The system can also integrate metal detection into the same frame.
Maintenance costs are reduced with a passive cooling ‘maintenance free’ X-ray generator. An adaptation of Fortress Technology’s advanced Automatic Testing is also available. This can be adjusted to specific product weights and formats to verify the rejection of products that indicate a contamination event. OPC UA and Ethernet enable robust data logging and remote oversight, with RFID access controls to secure sensitive parameters and audits.
