Stainless Steel is very suitable for servos in the food industry

Apex Dynamics has had stainless steel servo products in its program from the start. Stainless steel is a major advantage, especially for applications in the food processing industry. The AB, AF, AT and AE series therefore all have a stainless steel output design. In addition, all Apex Dynamics gearboxes can optionally be lubricated with Food Grade lubricant. This lubricant may be used in the food industry because it is NSF/H1 approved.

Stainless Steel Housing

The AB, AF and the AE series all have a stainless steel housing, including the output shaft. These series do have a black anodized input housing and adapter plate for the motor mounting. With the right – angle variants, the angled housing is black coated aluminium. That is usually not a problem because many standard servo motors are not made of stainless steel. In many applications it is important that the output side, which can come into contact with moisture, is made of stainless steel. Our AT series also has a stainless steel housing and output shaft.

Food Grade Lubricant In The Food Industry

More and more servo motor manufacturers are coming up with a complete stainless steel motor. These almost always have a round output flange. Apex Dynamics has released a new series especially for this. The inline AES or the right – angled AERS.

The inline AES or the right angled AERS is completely stainless steel as standard. We now have a suitable round stainless steel adapter plate for most stainless steel servo motors.

AES and AERS gearboxes are lubricated as standard with Food Grade lubricant and fitted with a stainless steel key and fixing screws. Most versions are already included in our design tool so that all information is available online.

All -Stainless Steel Gearbox For Food And Other Demanding Applications

Apex Dynamics has been known for years for its standard stainless steel gearbox from the AE/AER series. This round housing gearbox has a stainless steel output housing and shaft. In combination with the Viton seals and helical planetary gears and bevel for right angle operation, this is the ideal solution for demanding applications in food, packaging, processing, pharma and offshore. But what if you need a fully stainless steel gearbox? Then our AES/AERS series is the answer.

Fully Stainless Steel Gearbox: Adapter Plate Made Of Stainless Steel

The adapter plate of the standard AE/AER gearbox is made of black anodized aluminium. Some applications now require a completely stainless steel drive due to the development of stainless steel machines and stainless steel servo motors becoming more common. These are two of the main reasons for the development of a separate, all-stainless steel series of gearboxes: the AES/AERS series.

Because the technical basis is the same as the AE/AER series, the specifications have remained the same. There is also no degradation of the specifications due to the use of Food Grade lubricant

All-Stainless Steel Gearbox

This fully stainless steel gearbox is also included in our design tool, combined with a large number of complete stainless steel motors. You can therefore very easily have the design tool make the selection and download the drawings of the gearbox -with appropriate round stainless steel adapter plate. This creates a hygienic combination of servomotor and gearbox.

The main features of our AES/AERS stainless steel gearbox are:

· Frame Sizes 50/70/90/120/155

· Provided with Food Grade lubricant

· Both straight (AES) and angled (AERS) available.

· Stainless steel key is supplied as standard (DIN 6885 / Passing p9!)

· Helical planetary teeth with bevelled teeth for right angle, so low vibration and noise levels

· Rated torques up to 650 Nm

· Gear ratio from 3:1 to 200:1
