Stainless-steel fixed and swivel castors, which are ideal for use in sterile environments such as food and pharmaceutical manufacturing, are available from norelem, the world leaders in standard components. 20 versions of the components can be found in norelem’s catalogue, THE BIG GREEN BOOK.
Engineered with 1.4301 grade stainless-steel housings, and wheels manufactured from a high-quality thermoplastic polyurethane and polyamide wheel centre, norelem’s castors are highly suitable for use in the food production and medical industries. Key features of the castors include their long service life, resistance to wear, and their noise absorbing properties.
With a distinctive blue colour, the castors are easily identifiable for use in hygiene-specific applications, such as medical trolleys, serving trolleys and food production line transport. The components have a low rolling and swivelling resistance, making them easy to manoeuvre around production floors.
Marcus Schneck, CEO of norelem, said, “Though a small component, castors play a hugely important role in production. Well designed and specified castors will not only make day-to-day activity easier, but they will also reduce costs by being longer lasting, improve the working environment for staff, and improve comfort when wheeling trolleys around.
“This is why we’ve added to our already extensive range of castors with stainless-steel swivel and fixed versions for food and medical use. The castors are suitable for use in commercial kitchens, ovens, cold stores and freezers with temperature ranges between -20°C to 70°C, with the benefit of being hygienic.”
norelem’s castors come in a variety of roller diameter and belt width sizes, along with loading capacities of up to 400kg. Further to this, the swivel versions can be supplied with locking devices to provide directional locking and prevent rotation of the castor.
The high-quality tread on the castor wheel also provide vibration and noise dampening effects, making them quiet during operation, while also being gentle to the floor and being very abrasion resistant.
