- The company is driving its transformation forward
- Transition from machine manufacturer to provider of holistically orchestrated end-of-line systems
- Focus on a combination of automation, sustainable materials and digital tools
The GroupMosca is consistently developing its business model and positioning itself as a provider of integrated solutions for end-of-line orchestration. The aim is to make supply chains not only more efficient, but also more transparent, sustainable and resilient. The Group offers solutions for all application areas along the packaging process. From simple, manual packaging solutions in the price performance segment to fully automated, integrated packaging solutions in the nonstop performance segment.
What began in 1966 with solutions for securing goods during transport has developed into a comprehensive end-of-line approach. Drawing on in-depth industry and application expertise, the GroupMosca now combines machinery, materials, digital applications and services into an integrated system. This fundamentally shifts the company’s role from that of a supplier of individual components to a partner that takes a holistic approach to end-of-line processes, managing and optimising them.
The building blocks for integrated end-of-line solutions
The implementation of efficient end-of-line solutions relies heavily on the use of high-performance strapping and stretch wrapping machines – packaging machines that ensure stable, efficient and scalable processes through integrated automation solutions. These include both strapping machines and stretch wrapping machines. The focus is always on the customer’s needs and on solutions tailored specifically to them.
Mosca also develops and markets innovative consumables, such as strapping, with a focus on the future and sustainability. Materials such as PCR (post-consumer recycled material) play a key role in this regard. The result is high-performance solutions that reliably meet regulatory requirements.
To validate these processes, load units are tested and analysed under real-world conditions at the company’s own TechCenter. This provides a robust basis for increasing transport safety, reducing material usage and precisely meeting legal requirements. These processes are digitally documented via the Digital Load Pass, which automatically records the stability, packaging parameters and sustainability data of each load unit and makes this information available for audits and ESG reporting.
This integrated system is complemented by a comprehensive service, in which qualified specialists ensure the smooth operation and long-term performance of the machines through maintenance contracts. Under the ONE Service concept, Mosca’s service engineers do not simply follow the components of a standardised maintenance programme. Information on machines and maintenance intervals is fed into a centralised system across national borders, enabling the service life of the machines to be significantly extended through close collaboration.
Strategic development through targeted acquisitions, start-ups and partnerships
The transformation of the GroupMosca is being driven forward through targeted acquisitions, start-ups and strategic partnerships. A key step was the integration of Movitec, a specialist in automatic stretch-wrapping technology.
At the same time, Movitec underwent strategic development and repositioning: As a manufacturer-independent integrator, the company now assumes overall responsibility for the performance of end-of-line systems. The focus is not on optimising individual machines, but on designing complex, heterogeneous system landscapes into a stable, functioning overall system. In this way, Movitec creates transparency, reliability and controllability, and reduces inefficiencies in day-to-day operations through clear overall responsibility.
With the integration of the Spanish company Reisopack, Mosca has further strengthened its market position, particularly in Spanish-speaking markets and in the field of agricultural applications. Collaboration under the umbrella of the GroupMosca enables expertise to be pooled in a targeted manner and synergies to be realised and to offer the customers the best possible solutions for the future.
Strategic portfolio additions
The portfolio was also specifically expanded through two strategic additions to address the ongoing digitalisation in the B2B sector. With the launch of the online platform Packpart in 2024 the company expanded its offering to include a ‘digital-first’ retailer. This platform provides manufacturer-independent packaging solutions and personalised advice, thereby meeting the demand for flexible, digital procurement channels.
In parallel, OON was launched in 2025. The company specialises in developing digital solutions for industry, with a focus on optimising marketing and sales funnel structures to strengthen digital customer engagement in the B2B sector.
Vision: Intelligent and connected supply chains
For the GroupMosca, supply chains are more than just logistics processes. They form the basis for economic stability, security of supply and sustainable development. Against this backdrop, the company pursues a clear strategic direction: to transform supply chains into intelligent, connected and responsible systems. GroupMosca regards supply chains as the lifelines of industry. This is encapsulated in its transformative mission statement: ‘Transforming supply chains into intelligent lifelines’.
In recent years, Mosca machines have become increasingly ‘smarter’. The Connect models feature a digital Human Machine Interface (HMI). This provides manufacturer- and platform-independent process data visualisation based on modern web technologies, enabling the operator to view the most important process and status information for a Mosca machine in a contemporary format.
Outlook
With this strategic realignment, the GroupMosca is systematically positioning itself to meet future challenges – particularly in light of increasing regulatory requirements, sustainability targets and the growing complexity of global supply chains. GroupMosca’s comprehensive range of services thus offers customers a high level of expertise for future-proof end-of-line solutions in the packaging industry.
In addition, GroupMosca is announcing a global strategic partnership with another industry leader in packaging technology, the SIAT Group. The aim is to offer integrated solutions for the entire packaging line. The official signing of the agreement will take place on 7 May during Interpack, at 1 p.m. at the GroupMosca booth and at 3 p.m. at the SIAT Group booth. Customers, partners and media representatives are cordially invited to attend the signing ceremonies at both locations.
