SalzburgMilch, a premium dairy company in Austria, is breaking new ground in the European dairy industry: it is the first company in Europe to commercially produce on a state-of-the-art SIG DomeMini 12 Aseptic filling line and is now launching the first products in SIG DomeMini, SIG’s unique on-the-go carton bottle.
SalzburgMilch is kicking off the product launches in SIG DomeMini with two of its most popular children’s beverages – Alex (chocolate milk) and Lisa (vanilla milk) – bringing familiar, trusted favorites into a new packaging solution designed for modern on-the-go lifestyles. Additional innovative on‑the‑go products from brand owners and retail partners are already in development and are expected to be launched in the coming months.
SIG DomeMini combines the protective, environmental, and logistical benefits of a carton pack with the convenience of a bottle. Designed for UHT products such as specialty milk and protein drinks, plant-based alternatives, meal replacements and more, the packaging opens up new product opportunities for the European food and beverage market. For consumers, SIG DomeMini offers on-the-go convenience thanks to its large, centrally positioned closure; the package is also easy to open, reseal, and store – and allows the contents to be enjoyed right from the pack, down to the last drop.
SalzburgMilch’s move to the SIG carton bottle reflects the company’s commitment to premium quality and innovation. The close partnership with SIG enables SalzburgMilch to pioneer SIG DomeMini for the European dairy industry and consumers – with a packaging solution that stands out through strong visual differentiation, convenience and a high share of renewable materials, delivering added value for manufacturers and shoppers alike.
For brand owners and retailers, the European launch of SIG DomeMini provides an additional stimulus to partner with SalzburgMilch in the area of co-packing. SalzburgMilch’s central location in Europe is ideally suited for efficient logistics and distribution throughout the region.
At the heart of the solution is the state-of-the-art SIG DomeMini 12 Aseptic filling line, capable of aseptically filling 12,000 packages per hour across seven volume sizes (180 to 350 ml) on one and the same filling machine – with a volume change in just 15 minutes.
Andreas Gasteiger, Managing Director at SalzburgMilch: “With the production start on the SIG DomeMini 12 Aseptic filling line, we are opening up exciting new opportunities. SIG DomeMini fits the needs of today’s consumers. Alex and Lisa in SIG DomeMini are only the beginning – we are already working on additional product concepts that will follow soon.”
Nino Schmid, Senior Key Account Manager at SIG, added: “The start of commercial production on the SIG DomeMini 12 Aseptic filling line at SalzburgMilch marks an important milestone for SIG DomeMini in Europe. With its unique bottle shape, SIG DomeMini delivers the perfect combination of on‑the‑go convenience, strong differentiation on shelf, and much less plastic compared to plastic bottles.”
