Emmi Caffè Latte is introducing a fully recyclable packaging solution and a new design. As Europe’s first ready-to-drink coffee brand offering freshly brewed, barista-quality coffee, it created a new category more than 20 years ago. The iconic brand continues this pioneering spirit beyond the product itself: with packaging that combines recyclability, convenience and consumer proximity.
With its new cups and lids concept for the 230 ml range, Emmi Caffè Latte is taking a decisive step towards a circular economy. Thanks to in-mould labelling (IML) technology, the current PET sleeve will no longer be needed. Combined with the new lid with no aluminium board, the packaging becomes fully recyclable. Day-to-day handling has also been improved: the firmly connected cup and lid with flap provides better protection for the drink opening and makes it more leak-proof when out and about.
At the same time, Emmi Caffè Latte has been given a minimalist, modernised design: interconnecting the design elements across all varieties reinforces the recognisability of the brand and underlines the barista quality. Clear product variety names, relevant product information on the front and a clear design all ensure clear orientation on the shelves. The new packaging concept will be available in Switzerland from May 2026 and a Europe-wide roll-out will follow from June 2026.
Proximity to consumers drives innovation
Emmi Caffè Latte is a pioneering spirit, shaping the cold coffee market for over 20 years and creating a new category as the first ready-to-drink coffee brand in Europe. To this day, the Emmi Group continues with its innovative brand development, always geared towards the changing needs of its consumers as well as trends such as convenience, natural energy and functional nutrition. Examples include the new Emmi Matcha Latte, the unique “Double Zero” concept with no added sugar or sweeteners and Emmi Caffè Latte High Protein. Its innovative strength is based on its own research and development expertise as well as on in-depth coffee expertise from the in-house Hochstrasser master coffee roastery with its more than 165 years of experience.
Great taste and best quality
The demand for taste and quality remains unchanged. Emmi Caffè Latte is produced entirely in Switzerland: from roasting the 100% Arabica beans to processing the Swiss milk. The beans come from Rainforest Alliance-certified cultivation, while the milk comes from sustainable Swiss production. The coffee is gently roasted and freshly brewed in barista quality. The patented “all natural” manufacturing process creates different Emmi Caffè Latte variants with natural ingredients.
