Award-winning partnership with TIPA, Pawniolo Pets, and WildKind showcases how sustainable materials and thoughtful design can elevate pet treat packaging.
TIPA® Compostable Packaging, a global leader in developing and manufacturing compostable flexible packaging solutions, has received a second-place award in the Sustainable Design category at the DIELINE Awards 2026, one of the packaging industry’s most prestigious competitions. TIPA helped develop a fully home-compostable packing solution in partnership with the ethically minded pet food brand, Pawniolo Pets, and sustainable packaging manufacturer, WildKind Packaging.
Pawniolo Pets produces pet treats and food using the byproducts of local Hawaiian cattle farming, ensuring that nothing goes to waste. Looking for a packaging solution that reflected the brand’s values and operating on a small island with limited capacity to manage waste collection, Pawinolo Pets needed a solution that could support small quantities and still help achieve the company’s sustainability goals. TIPA partnered with WildKind Packaging to develop a home-compostable flexible pouch using TIPA’s proprietary bio-based films. The final pet treat pouch provided the same level of durability and protection that conventional plastic packaging typically provides, without generating microplastics or creating additional waste.
TIPA’s home-compostable films support high-quality printing, and WildKind supports smaller production volumes, which allowed the team at Pawniolo Pets to tell their brand story without having to compromise on material and order quantities.
