Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) will provide direct sales, support and service of its Bredel range of heavy duty hose pumps in all regions from 1st of January 2021.
This announcement is the final part of a phased transition to move away from the distribution of its Bredel range by distribution partner AxFlow Group.
Countries affected by the change are Finland, Norway, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Czech Republic (including Slovakia). All of these countries have existing or recently established sales offices staffed by WMFTG’s own experienced applications engineers and product specialists.
In the Czech Republic, WMFTG will also takeover direct sales and support of its Watson-Marlow and Alitea peristaltic pumps from AxFlow. To support this, a new WMFTG sales office has been established in Prague to service customers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
From a customer perspective, direct ‘in-country’ support from WMFTG’s expanded network of local offices will enable the provision of a deeper level of service and applications knowledge. For Bredel users, many of whom operate in harsh and challenging process environments, ready access to specialist product and applications expertise and rapid technical support – where needed – will be much welcomed.
Commenting on the announcement, Steve Lavargna, Regional Director, Americas and EMEA, says that this announcement is part of a much wider global strategy to connect with and support customers. “Our business has seen significant expansion over the last few years, which means we have needed to expand our service mechanisms to meet demand at a local level. This has taken time, but all the pieces of the jigsaw are now in place for a new way of working. We are delighted to be in a position where we can get closer to our customers and work with them as partners,” he says.
“AxFlow Group has been a trusted and valued distribution partner to us and we are extremely grateful for their work to support Bredel customers over the years. However, the time has come for a new stage in our journey and we wish their business well,” concludes Mr Lavargna.
