Seppic, one of the world’s leading producers of specialty ingredients, inaugurated a new production unit on Tuesday October 27 2026, at its Lons facility, near Pau. This investment marks a key milestone for Seppic in response to global demand for purified natural active ingredients.
The new 1,400 m2 building at Seppic’s 8-hectare Lons site, which employs over 50 people, will triple its production capacity for CERAMOSIDES™, a key range serving both the nutrition and beauty markets. These ingredients, wheat extracts rich in phytoceramides, are available for topical and oral use with clinically proven benefits for anti-aging, skin hydration, and hair loss reduction.
Ceramides are widely recognized as a key ingredient in both the cosmetics (more than 1.4 billion views for #ceramides on TikTok) and the nutrition markets with a +6.9% CAGR1 for food supplements over the period 2024-20302.
Demonstrating its rising global recognition, CERAMOSIDES™ tradename is already featured as a trusted key ingredient on the packaging of over 150 nutrition brands worldwide, with demand continuing to increase.
These new infrastructures therefore address a growing market need, and demonstrate Seppic’s renewed ambition in the promising markets of cosmetics and nutraceutical ingredients derived from natural extracts.
Virginie Cavalli, CEO of Seppic : “Our teams take great pride in the inauguration of this new unit. We are granting ourselves full capacity to meet the growing market demand and thus serve our customers even better. It is a major investment for the future, which also allows us to continue diversifying the activities of our Lons site, anchoring activity in the heart of local French territory.”
