Vitafoods Europe 2022, booth M21: Omya presents its innovative excipients and nutritional ingredients for dietary supplements
At Vitafoods Europe, Omya will present its innovative excipients Omyanutra® 300 DC and Omyanutra® 300 Flash suitable for nutraceuticals. Omyanutra® 300 DC, based on the company’s proprietary technology, is directly compressible, enables excellent tablet compactability and free-flow. Omyanutra® 300 Flash comes with additional superdisintegrant and is therefore a perfect all-in-one solution for manufacturers of orally and fast-dissolving tablets. Both ingredients are non-nano, free from GMOs and made of high-purity, natural minerals. When combined with other ingredients such as those offered in the company’s distribution portfolio – for example, vitamins or natural flavors – customers can benefit from interesting synergies and create market differentiated products.
To illustrate the broad range of options for product development, Omya presents unique prototype formulations. One such offering is Activfresh mint oil-containing lonzenges produced with Omyanutra® 300 DC for instantly refreshed breath and mouthfeel. Then there’s B12 Flash ODT. These are red berry-flavored tablets containing Vitamin B12 which, thanks to Omyanutra® 300 Flash, orally disintegrate ultra-fast regardless of the hardness of the tablet. Also on show will be Bone Boost Chewables, comprising a mix of Omyapure® 35 – a high-purity, natural calcium source with 40% of bioavailable calcium – plus vitamins D3 and K2, which are essential for optimal calcium absorption and deposition into bones. Soft Chewable Toffees are another prototype that will be showcased. They contain Omyaforte® 100, a highly bioavailable source of calcium, suitable for powdered formulations and dietary supplements. Red berry flavored MCT Flash ODTs contain medium chain triglycerides, such as those found in coconut oil, that provide a quick energy boost which may help negate hunger pangs, thus aiding weight management. Finally, L-Theanine Flash ODTs with apple and mint flavour are able to quickly and effectively ease anxiety, while counteracting oxidative cellular stress.
The highly functional calcium minerals Omyanutra® 300 DC and Omyanutra® 300 Flash are free-flowing, directly compressible granules and offer better compactability compared to benchmark excipients. In addition, the minerals provide fast disintegration thanks to their particles’ porous structure. This porosity also enables the safe carrying and release of active ingredients. Omyanutra® 300 Flash will be part of the Vitafoods Innovation Tour and showcased in the New Ingredients Zone.
