Bioiberica, a global Life Science company committed to improving the health and well-being of people, animals and plants, has been awarded the UNE19601 certification for its Criminal Compliance Management System, following an audit carried out by Bureau Veritas.
Giving manufacturers peace of mind
Criminal compliance consists of processes, controls and tools that ensure greater control and surveillance in preventing criminal risk within an organisation, thereby avoiding potential sanctions which might otherwise impact the supply chain. For manufacturers operating in the highly regulated nutraceutical and pharmaceutical sectors, this certification provides further endorsement that Bioiberica is a safe and trusted partner.
Building on strong foundations
Since it was first established, Bioiberica has always paid special attention to its compliance with the legal requirements set by public authorities. This meant that when it came to the auditing process for the UNE19601 certification, it was easier to assess the criminal risks related to the company’s activity and strengthen the controls already in place.
Internationally-recognised standards
Issued by Spain’s National Accreditation Body (ENAC), the UNE19601 standard enables the implementation of Criminal Compliance Management Systems that respect legal requirements placed on organisations operating in international markets. This was particularly important for Bioiberica as the company operates in over 80 countries.

Its Management System was previously certified in accordance with ISO 9000 and ISO14001 certification, and it has received accreditation for its CSR Management based on the SDGs, the EMAS III environmental certification, 45001 for Occupational Health & Safety and 50001 for Energy Efficiency, among others.
