GC Rieber VivoMega’s board har announced a 5-year USD 75 million investment plan to build a new facility at our manufacturing campus here in Kristiansund, Norway. Expected to be operational in early 2024, this new facility will enable us to more than double the output of our high-end triglyceride form of omega-3s EPA and DHA and become a true global leader in omega-3 concentrates.
“This investment is part of GC Rieber VivoMega’s continual commitment to develop the needed facilities for the increased capacity and production of our industry leading omega-3 oils. To minimize our eco-footprint, we will be leveraging much of the existing infrastructure, including docks, tanks, laboratories, and energy to provide the same high quality product that our customers are asking for.”
Jan Roger Bjerkestrand , Managing Director of GC Rieber VivoMega
During the summer of 2022 our construction of a 32,000 metric ton tank park will be completed as well as updated technology platform in our existing manufacturing plants. This tank park has enabled us to adjust to current supply chain challenges and is a key strategic asset supporting new expansions. To support future new raw material sources, the new facility is also being designed with added flexibility to support future strategic growth areas in omega-3 high-end concentrates.
“We are encouraged that this new development will enable GC Rieber VivoMega to continue to grow and expand as a leading high-end omega-3 supplier. With one of the world’s largest fish oil manufacturing and storage facilities, the expansion will provide GC Rieber VivoMega with added flexibility to meet our customers’ ongoing supply needs.“
