‘Recruitment and Placement Expansion …’

Dalziel Ingredients, the UK specialist in bespoke seasoning blends, cures, functional ingredients, and sauces has strengthened its ever-growing NPD team, highlighting the firm’s commitment to the expansion of capabilities offered to their customers.

Emma Bell celebrates a year at Dalziel Ingredients as NPD Sauce Manager after 9 years working within the food manufacturing industry gaining knowledge and understanding of the concept to launch process, product development and retailer standards.

Emma has been tasked with leading the sauce team, which includes successfully developing new products and ensuring the implementation of process development that meets Dalziel Ingredients’ objectives. Emma will continue Dalziel Ingredients’ high standards of customer satisfaction.

Emma said: “Over the past year I have been applying my skillset and industry experience within the role and helping customers bring their vision to life.”

Dalziel has a long-standing testament to taking on placement students as the business continues to strengthen its ties with universities, particularly Northumbria University. The Felling site welcomes back Sophie Boldvig (NPD Technologist) and Holly Parkinson (Sauce Technologist) after completing a year in industry placement, having both achieved First Class Honors this year from the university.

Iain Brownlee, Associate Professor at Northumbria University, shared his thoughts on the partnership between Dalziel Ingredients and the university: “Companies like Dalziel Ingredients provide students with invaluable experience; offering students the opportunity to work within different departments during their placement period allows students to gain crucial insights into potential career paths after graduation. Beyond industry knowledge, students develop essential soft skills that support their success during their final year and appeal to future employers.” The food industry, in particular, benefits from skilled, well-rounded graduates who are prepared to contribute to innovation and growth, having gained experience across different departments.

Dalziel’s marketing team welcomes Lucy Jackson from Nottingham Trent University as their newest placement student. Lucy joins as a Food Science and Technology student, having previously worked in a kitchen alongside MasterChef winner, Laurence Henry, as well as establishing her own baked goods business.

Speaking of the recent appointments, Dalziel Ingredient’s Director Fran Hutton, “We have been building up a first-class NPD and technical services team as we continue to develop a global platform for our products. Our focus is very much on innovation, development of new flavour concepts and assisting our customers who are tapping into the next food trends.” Dalziel Ingredients welcomes candidates to submit their CVs for future consideration, as they maintain an active recruitment file to attract the best talent for their team.

In 2025, Dalziel Ingredients will launch a new website to enhance its online presence and provide customers with an improved user experience.

Dalziel Ingredients advises food manufacturers across the world on flavour trends, market analysis, factory processes, recipe formulations and product quality enhancements.
