The Sustainable Herbs Initiative (SHI) announces the 4th SHI Learning Lab to be held in four virtual sessions beginning January 30, 2025, and continuing February 6, 20, and 27 from 11 AM – 1 PM ET.
For stakeholders in the botanical industry, this virtual Learning Lab will explore:
- How can medicinal plant sourcing enhance global wellbeing?
- How do we cultivate true respect for plants, people, and planet?
- What systemic changes are necessary?
- How can we collaborate to drive meaningful transformation?
This 2025 series is informed by, and will build on, the powerful in-person gatherings SHI has had during three Learning Journeys (Appalachia, Oregon, and Nicaragua). The structure will continue with and deepen the work of previous SHP Learning Labs.
The series will be co-facilitated by SHI Director Ann Armbrecht and Julie Arts, a senior Faculty member and consultant with the Presencing Institute, which offers a model of awareness-based systems change that works at getting to the root causes of systemic change and identifying key steps to address those issues. Ann and Julie will share case studies, especially examples from ongoing SHI Working Group initiatives, to illustrate these ideas in practice and identify tools to help implement these ideas in new initiatives to be undertaken individually and collaboratively.
This Learning Lab is an excellent opportunity for current SHI member companies to educate and involve more employees, and for potential new members to experience SHI’s work.
Participation is free for active SHI Supporters, members, and participants from the Global South, and $300 for non-members. Some full and partial scholarships are available. More information or registration available here.
