NutrEvent is the European partnering event dedicated to innovation in Food, Human and Animal Nutrition. It will take place in Lille on October 1st and 2nd, 2024. More than 500 participants from 25 countries are expected to attend, including suppliers of functional and innovative ingredients, pharmaceutical companies, start-ups and distributors, as well as investors and key players in academic research and technology transfer. With a focus on future innovation, the event offers four main activities: conferences, a pitch competition, an exhibition area and one-on-one meetings – giving all participants the opportunity to exchange ideas.
NutrEvent, the European convention where innovation partnerships emerge
The exhibition area, located at the heart of the event, will host nearly 40 French and international exhibitors. Many key players in the sector will be present, including Kreglinger Europe, Ilsi Europe, Biofortis and Genoscreen. The regional pavilion will bring together companies from the Hauts-de-France region. These include Foodinnov’ Group, which specialises in nutrition and food transition; food and sensory analysis laboratories Qualtech; Zymoptiq, which develops enzymatic measurement products; and Inrae Transfert, a project engineering and technology transfer company for innovation in the food, agriculture and environment sectors, among others.
Another key activity at NutrEvent is the business convention. The partnering platform is ideal for meeting other players in the sector and initiating commercial or R&D partnerships. In 2023, it generated more than 1,200 one-on-one business meetings.
Addressing the different challenges in the sector
The NutrEvent conference programme offers essential insights for those who wish to stay at the forefront of emerging trends. More than 60 international speakers will be on hand to share their experience.
The ‘spotlight sessions’ will focus on three key themes. Experts will discuss how the gut microbiota affects our metabolism and general health, and the latest discoveries and innovations regarding these interactions. Nard Clabbers, opinion leader in personalised nutrition at NCNC Nutrition Consultancy, will be leading this conference. Investment trends in the food and nutrition sectors up to 2025 will also be discussed at a conference. This topic for investors
and start-ups will be explored by experts such as Ariane Voyatzakis, Head of Innovation at Ania (Association Nationale des Industries Agroalimentaires). Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be at the heart of the discussions. AI is set to revolutionise many sectors, including nutrition. By integrating it into the food production chain, it is possible to improve efficiency and optimise food processes.
Over the two days, the conferences will also cover other subjects, including the latest trends in innovation in the field of food supplements and medical nutrition. Attendees will learn how to combine nutrition and sustainability in production and processed food products, as well as major advances in animal nutrition.
Rewarding innovation in the sector
NutrEvent gives young companies the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of experts. During the event, the Start-up Slams are held to select the most innovative project in the sector.
This year, regional player Lesaffre is supporting the competition. It is also being organised in partnership with Rockstart, a venture capital accelerator based in Amsterdam. The winner will receive support from Rockstart, including 5 hours of consulting, access to the Rockstart Agrifood Selection Days 2025 and a VIP ticket for Rockstart Community Day.
NutrEvent 2024 promises to be a must-attend event for food and nutrition professionals. Combining inspiring conferences and networking sessions, it is a unique opportunity to explore innovations, discuss challenges and seize opportunities in the sector.
